BEFORE

1. Drink plenty of water and eat a good meal. Water helps keep your energy high, balanced and your skin hydrated. When you're dehydrated, your skin gets drier and thinner. Which is why we recommend drinking lots of water the week before and day of your appointment. Staying hydrated will make the tattoo process easier for the artists and less painful for you. Eating will prevent you from feeling weak during the session.

2. Stay away from substances before your appointment. Before getting your tattoo, it's advised you stay away from blood thinners such as alcohol and aspirin 24 hours before your appointment. Doing this will limit the amount of bleeding during the session.

3. Do not shave the area you are getting tattooed. Shaving can irritate the skin and affect the tattoo. It's best to leave the shaving to the artist, they'll use a sterile, disposable razor.

4. Moisturize your skin If you're not used to using lotion your skin may be a bit dry at the time for your tattoo. This can make your sessions more difficult for the artist. Using unscented moisturizer for your skin a week before vour session could solve this issue.
